For the lovers of the fantastical, the whimsical, and the unbelievable, the Second Star Sanctum is the ultimate pilgrimage. Standing beneath the fabled Second Star, the two pronged tower reaches towards the sky, begging for its secrets. Standing out against the dark stone of the tower walls, is the glimmering rainbow mirrors of the observatory, focusing its gaze on the galaxies above.
Relatively quiet during the day, the Sanctum comes alive at night. The stones shimmer with reflections from the moon, and the stars get restless. The skies above are supernaturally clear allowing those within to see the heavens in their full, unspoiled majesty.
The Stardust Observatory is inhabited by an ancient and often strange being only ever known as “The Lorekeeper”. Bending and shifting, seemingly of its own free will, the dome seeks to ensure the best viewing experience possible for its guests and keeper. As visitors look upward, the dome reshapes itself to align with the constellations they seek to study, sometimes amplifying light, sometimes shadowing certain sections of the sky for an even greater analysis.
The pilgrimage to the Sanctum is not for the faint of heart. The climb is steep, winding through narrow ridges and tricky crossroads. As travelers ascend, the air thins, and the wind seems to carry whispers—echoes of the ancient beings whose stories remain etched upon the tomes of the Sanctum.
Twice a year, the stars align with the Sanctum just so, allowing us to traverse into the hidden corners of the cosmos, through time itself, just for a night. In anticipation, the Guilds band together to choose their strongest willed members to represent them across the far corners of the universe.
The Lorekeeper has recently begun reaching out to the Guilds of the land to receive their aid, but the purpose remains a mystery. There's a quiet certainty that this help will require a rare celestial convergence and a long road to the Second Star Sanctum. Until then, communication between Guilds flows freely, and they always have an open seat at their tables. This is a land of peace, free flowing information, and love. New recruits need simply ask, and there is little the Guildmasters would not share with them.
